Man-made polypropylene fibre adsorbents (meltblown)

Meltblown is the term used for polypropylene sorbents. Polypropylene resin (which is plastic) is melted then ‘blown’ as very fine fibres into a mat that can be cut into individual pads or rolled up. Meltblown is best used for recovering aggressive spills or leaks and for recovering oil-based spills on land and especially on large bodies of water. This "single layered" construction is made by simply blowing the desired weight in one procedure and then cutting it into either pad or roll format. Single layer meltblown offers fast absorption but limited durability. These products are ideally suited to the marine and particularly the Oil only version to the off shore oil industry.

 

190MBWR

With a fabric weight of 190 gsm this roll at 92 metres long, is twice the length when compared to the heavier weight 380 gsm 46 metre long version, and as a result
offers a fabric with the lowest cost per square metre.

The roll is 76 cm wide by 92 metres long and is made from a single layer of meltblown fibres. The roll can be supplied in either a rigid cardboard box or a clear plastic bag.

240MBWR

At 240 gsm this roll is an economical alternative to the full heavy weight 380 gsm weight version.

This roll is 76 centimetres wide by 46 metres long. It is not perforated. The roll can be supplied in either a rigid cardboard box or a clear plastic bag.

286MBWR

This 286 gsm roll is a heavier medium weight Oil only non-bonded meltblown option. It is similar to our heavier medium weight bonded meltblown roll but is not sonically welded. 

This roll is 76 centimetres wide by 46 metres long. It is not perforated. The roll can be supplied in either a rigid cardboard box or a clear plastic bag.

380MBWR

With a heavy fabric weight of 380 gsm this roll at 46 metres long, is half the length when compared to the lighter weight 190 gsm 92 metre long version, but as a result offers a fabric with a much heavier product per square metre.

The roll is 76 cm wide by 46 metres long and is made from a single layer of meltblown fibres. The roll can be supplied in either a rigid cardboard box or a clear plastic bag.
